Juvenile Offenders

Weekly visits to a youth delinquent rehabilitation center

Around 80 young people aged between 13 and 18 take part in our weekly program. Our interdisciplinary team, together with a volunteer from the Weltwärs program (a development volunteer service run by the German Federal Ministry for Cooperation and Development) is visiting these boys who got into trouble with the law in early life.

They all have something in common: they live in desolate family units, in poverty and often homelessness. At a young age they have been recruited into street gangs which replace the family. This is how they got into the cycle of violence, crime and addiction (of glue, alcohol and drugs).

The team of the Soforthilfe is trying to establish a relationship of trust that will continue even after their discharge from the program

Our offer for these forgotten “big kids“ includes:

Life and career counseling, training of existing skills and talents, sports therapy and help with all administrative procedures.
